Research Reconstruction of the mass of ultra-high-energetic cosmic-rays with Auger Prime
Ultra-high energetic cosmic rays are accelerated via the most powerful processes in the Universe. Their energy can reach up to 1020 eV, which is roughly a million times higher than the energy of any man-made accelarator. The exact processes that produce these ultra-high energetic cosmis rays, however, remain a mystery. Gathering insights about the mass of these particles is the research goal of the current Auger upgrade and my PhD thesis.
